This Is Why The US Army Created A Massive Boat-Sucking Whirlpool In Texas.

US Army Engineers are warning boaters to keep away from a massive whirlpool they have created in Lake Texoma as it is big enough to suck them down.

The whirlpool appeared when engineers opened the floodgates of the Denison Dam to drain the lake, which was flooded from four weeks of heavy rain.

The floodgates are located at the bottom of the lake and drain the water into the nearby Red River. Just like draining a sink or tub in your own home this causes the water to create a vortex, the only difference being that this drain could suck in a sizable boat.
